LIFE GROUPS WEEK 5 – FALL 2024
LG VIDEO – WEEK 5 – 06:40 MINUTES
FULL SERMON – 39:17 MINUTES
ICE BREAKER:
Share notes from the sermon. What are the three enemies that believers face?
(Answer: The voice of the world, the flesh, and the accuser)
SCRIPTURE:
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NABRE) “We destroy arguments and every pretension raising itself against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to submit it to Christ.”
Ephesians 2:8-10 (NLT) “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
UNcomplicate it:
Understanding Questions
- What does it mean to be saved “by grace,” and why is it important that salvation is described as a gift from God?
- Why do you think Paul emphasizes that salvation is not something we can earn or boast about?
- How does understanding that we are God’s “masterpiece,” created to do good works, change the way we view ourselves and our purpose?
Application Questions
- We learned that the word “devil” in Greek is “Diablos,” meaning “accuser.” Can you share an experience where you’ve faced an accusing voice? What lie has the enemy tried to convince you of?
- How does your identity in Christ help combat this lie? What steps will you take to “take it captive and submit it to Christ”?
Action Steps
- Encourage each other, pray for one another, and commit to reading through Ephesians this week.
