How Much Should I Give?
We get this question a lot—and honestly, it’s a great one. Whether you’re new to church or have been following Jesus for years, here are 3 simple truths to help guide your generosity.
1. The Bible Actually Gives a Number
Yep—God actually gave us a starting point: 10%. That’s what “tithe” means. Not because He needs your money, but because He wants your heart. Giving the first 10% of what we earn teaches us to trust Him and put Him first. And get this—God literally says, “Test Me in this.” (Like, when else does He say that?)
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty. — Malachi 3:10
“The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God first.” — Deuteronomy 14:23 (TLB)
2. Ask God and Give What He Puts on Your Heart
Some of us are in seasons where we can give more—maybe from a business win, an inheritance, or just being financially blessed. If that’s you, pray and ask God what He wants you to do. Giving isn’t one-size-fits-all. God will speak to you—just be ready when your heart starts racing a little.
“Each of you should give what you’ve decided in your heart… not out of pressure. God loves a cheerful giver!” — 2 Corinthians 9:7
3. Just Start Somewhere—But Start with God First
Not ready for 10%? That’s okay. Just start somewhere—and make sure God goes first, not last. Even $10, if it’s the first thing you do when you get paid, honors Him. Set it up to auto-give and take the pressure off. God blesses what you put Him first in.
“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits… then your barns will be filled to overflowing.” — Proverbs 3:9–10
Bottom line:
Whether you’re tithing for the first time or stepping into radical generosity, giving is about the heart. And when you trust God with your finances—you’ll be amazed at what He does, not just in your wallet, but in your faith, peace, and purpose.

We know when you trust God He shows up. We also know that taking a huge step of faith can be challenging. So we came up with the tithe challenge to help you trust God with every area of your life and in this case specifically finances. If you tithe for three months and God doesn’t hold true to His promises of blessings, we will refund 100% of your tithe.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10-11
WHAT IS A TITHE?:
A tithe literally means a tenth. Trusting God with the first fruits (10%) of what you make is a way to show him that you living like everything in your life belongs to him. It is a way to show your deep trust in God as your provider.
TAKE THE CHALLENGE:
Countless people experience God’s blessings when they tithe, but often the first step is the hardest one to take. The Three-Month Tithe Challenge is a money-back guarantee of sorts. Essentially, it’s a contract based on God’s promises in Malachi 3:10-11.
Here’s our commitment to you. If you tithe for three months and God doesn’t hold true to His promises, we will refund 100% of your tithe.
