WEEK 7 – Spring 2026
LIFE GROUPS – WEEK 7
FULL SERMON – 32 MINS
ICE BREAKER:
- Share about a time where you experienced Christlike love or forgiveness.
SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 5:23-24 NIV
23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.
John 13:34-35 NIV
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
- Why do you think that loving and reconciling with others is closely connected to loving and worshiping God?
- True fellowship is a commitment to God’s spiritual family at the same level he is committed to us. John 13:35 Jesus says the world will know we are His disciples by the way we love one another. How does our faithfulness to each other show the world our faithfulness to a Christ?
-
Which description of love seems most challenging for you right now?
- The way we love one another is the way we show the world we are disciples of Jesus. Who in your life might God be calling you to love more like Jesus?
Challenge
-
Take a moment to ask God if there is a relationship He wants you to go and be reconciled with.
- Is there someone you need to forgive?
- Is there someone from whom you need to seek forgiveness?
